Inspired by New Order: Bernard Sumner Football Shirt
Our football shirt tribute to seminal Manchester band New Order includes a significant nod to the 1990 England away kit donned by Bernard Sumner in the video for the classic World Cup song "World In Motion" in its blue and white pattern. The embroidered badge is inspired by the cover artwork of the band's debut album "Movement" (and includes the year 1981; being the year of its release), while the left sleeve features sleeve designer Peter Saville's colour code wheel which appeared on several New Order releases. The right sleeve logo is inspired by the vinyl cover design for the 1988 re-release "Blue Monday '88"
The front sponsor is "Blue Monday", referencing the band's bestselling single (and the bestselling 12-inch single of all time), and is written in the typographic style of the "Total" album. The rear of the shirt features the name "Sumner" (for Bernard, New Order's lead vocalist and guitarist) in the typeface for their "Ceremony" release, and the number 80, the year of the band's formation.
This shirt is being produced by Sigur Sportswear exclusively for RedMolotov.
