Inspired by Led Zeppelin: Robert Plant Football Shirt
Zeppelin FC's star player, Robert Plant, is celebrated in our Led Zeppelin-inspired football shirt, with a name and number styled after the Led Zeppelin logo typography. The number, 68, in tribute to 1968, the year the band formed. The Zeppelin FC badge draws on imagery from the 2012 concert film, Celebration Day. The shirt's pattern evokes search lights, which are often seen in Led Zeppelin-related imagery.
Our main sponsor takes the form of the symbols used on iconic album, IV. Each symbol was chosen or designed by a member of the band. Speaking on the concept, Plant said: "Each of us decided to go away and choose a metaphysical type of symbol which somehow represented each of us individually—be it a state of mind, an opinion, or something we felt strongly about, or whatever."
One sleeve features the figure from William Rimmer's 1869–70 artwork 'Evening (The Fall of Day)', a figure later repurposed by Led Zeppelin. Oft referred to as Icarus, the original art is theorised to portray either Apollo or Lucifer.
The other sleeve features a logo inspired by Immigrant Song (1970) and features a traditional Norse hammer design.
Finally, on the back, we have the lantern man, based on the major arcana tarot figure of the Hermit.
