A must-have for every Scoob, our Buffy the Vampire Slayer-inspired football shirt is packed with details straight from the Hellmouth.
The main shirt design is a distressed red and black, these colours pay tribute to Buffy’s iconic wardrobe (namely her red leather trousers paired with her little black top, and her deeper red leather coat) and the stripes are a nod to Spike’s red shirt, which itself features striped details. Our embroidered Sunnydale Slayers badge features Mr. Pointy (Buffy’s trusty stake) and a golden sun inspired by the Welcome to Sunnydale sign, as well as a little tribute to the show's flaming heart motif.
The main shirt sponsor? It had to be The Bronze—the classic logo to Sunnydale’s favourite night club and the backdrop to many of the show's most memorable moments. Sleeve sponsors include the Doublemeat Palace (Buffy's unfortunate Season 6 job) and The Magic Box, the magic shop owned by Giles.
The name Summers and the number 97 on the back honour Buffy, obviously, and the year the series first aired. Above her name, we have the iconic lines from Season 1's opening credits: "In every generation there is a Chosen One. She alone will stand against the Vampires, the Demons, and the Forces of Darkness. She is the Slayer." It may have been phased out mid-way through Season 2, but it lives on in our hearts (and on our football shirt).
Finally, like the show, we couldn't close out our design without a little Grr Argh on the back—a Mutant Enemy zombie ambling across the bottom of the shirt.
