Inspired by Fleetwood Mac: Mick Fleetwood Football Shirt
Taking its colourway from the 1977 album, Rumours, our Fleetwood Mac football shirt draws its aesthetic from the Art Nouveau stylings of the band's tour posters, whose graphic design leans towards the witchy and the bohemian. Moon Sisters F.C. takes its name from the 1979 song Sisters of the Moon, as featured on the band's twelfth studio album, Tusk. Our embroidered badge is a nod to the band's own merch for that very song, with its moon and branch aesthetic.
For our main sponsor, we chose Rhiannon (from their eponymous 1975 album), in an Art Nouveau type style, reminiscent of a logo one might find on perfume. On the sleeves, we have a spiral chain motif, a nod to 1977's The Chain. The other sleeve is adorned with a reference to one of Fleetwood Mac's most popular lyrics, "thunder only happens when it's raining", from their iconic break-up song, Dreams.
On the back, we have the name Fleetwood, and the number 67 for the year of their founding. Finally, a fancy penguin; a nod to both their seventh studio album, Penguin, and John McVie's iconic penguin tattoo. A penguin was also used to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary—so it felt only right to include one here.
