Inspired by The Godfather: Vito Corleone Football Shirt
The football shirt of "Andolini Calcio", inspired by the all-time classic The Godfather series of films and novels. The embroidered crest features the Italian colours of red, white and green, along with the puppetry symbolism that is a feature of the film and book titles (only this time suspending a football). The name "Andolini Calcio" (Andolini Football) is a nod to the main protagonist's original Sicilian surname prior to emigrating to the United States. The main shirt sponsor features the logo of Genco Pura Olive Oil, the olive oil importer that Corleone sets up as a front for his Mafia activities, whilst the sleeve sponsor is the logo of "Louis' Italian American Restaurant" in the Bronx where Vito's son Michael Corleone kills rival kingpin Virgil Sollozzo and corrupt police chief Mark McCluskey in retaliation for their attempt on his father's life. The rear of the shirt features the family name "Corleone" along with the number 10 (the number generally worn by all creative maestros), while inside the numbers appear a horse head logo to symbolise the infamous mafia calling card from the story: the dead race horse head left in the bed of the movie mogul who would not obey the Don's orders.
Below the shirt number is the phrase "gli farò un'offerta che non può rifiutare" ("I'll make him an offer he can't refuse") - possibly the most famous line from the film. The entire shirt is made in a beautiful black colour scheme with gold trim.
This shirt has been produced by Sigur Sportswear exclusively for RedMolotov.
