Inspired by Blackadder II: Edmund Blackadder Football Shirt
We're taking a romp into Elizabethan England with our Blackadder-inspired kit. The shirt itself is based loosely on the eponymous Edmund Blackadder's most iconic costume, with the embroidered badge being a homage to the sword-and-snake motif from the costume's sleeve.
Our main sponsor could only be the Bank of the Black Monks of St. Herod, Repayment or Revenge, Banking with a Smile and a Stab, as seen in episode 4, "Money". On one sleeve, we've immortalised the culinary talents of Baldrick with Baldrick's Turnip Surprise—presented to Blackadder's Puritan aunt, Lady Whiteadder, in episode 5, "Beer". The other sleeve advertises the services of The Wise Woman, who Blackadder visits in episode 1, "Bells".
On the back, we have the name Blackadder, obviously, and the number 2. Completing the design is a little goblin drinking a beer, a tribute to Blackadder's drinking song: See the Little Goblin, see his little feet. And his little nosey-wose, isn’t the Goblin sweet?
