Our football shirt inspired by the iconic and groundbreaking early-1980s sit-com "The Young Ones". The embroidered badge features an image of a hamster rampant, along with the letters "SPGFC" (for "Special Patrol Group Football Club" - named after Vyvyan "Vyv" Basterd's Glaswegian talking hamster). In the centre of the badge is a scroll with the cod-Latin motto "Te Videre Teddy Ursus" (very roughly translated as SPG's catchphrase "See You, Teddy Bear"). The shirt features an all-over bright yellow and pink colour scheme in keeping with the show's branding.
The main shirt sponsor is "Scumbag College", the university (or possibly polytechnic) that the four protagonists attend. The college logo features icons representing Rik (a quill and ink pot), Vyv (a safety pin), Mike (sunglasses), and Neil (a peace sign), whilst on one sleeve appear the four stars that Vyvyan wears on his forehead. The other sleeve sponsor is "Balowski Letting Agency"; referencing Jerzei Balowski, the slum landlord who owns their filthy house. On the rear of the shirt is the number 12 - for the twelve episodes that the show aired - and the name "Rick", prefaced with a drawn on "P" in homage to the "Bambi" episode where the students appear on University Challenge and Vyvyan defaces Rick's name sign in the same way.
