Inspired by Nineteen Eighty-Four: Winston Smith Football Shirt
This exclusive football shirt is inspired by George Orwell's classic dystopian novel "Nineteen Eighty-Four". Printed in the black and red colour scheme so often used in depictions of Oceania, the shirt featured the embroidered badge of "Airstrip One Football Club" - based on the name of the country once known as Great Britain where the novel is set. The main shirt sponsor is "Victory Gin"; one of the few vices allowed by the party, although more as a means of suppressing emotion and rebellion rather than as a way of deriving pleasure. The sleeve prints feature the logo of Ingsoc (Newspeak for "English Socialism": the political philosophy of Oceania involving cult-like worshipping and veneration of the ruler, Big Brother), with the other sleeve showing a stylised eye with the words "Big Brother Is Watching You" around it.
The rear of the shirt features the name Smith - after the main protagonist of the story, Winston Smith - and, naturally, the number 84. At the bottom of the rear of the shirt is written the mantra of Ingsoc: "War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength".
This shirt has been produced by Sigur Sportswear exclusively for RedMolotov.
