Dio Football Shirt
And now for something a little bit different! We're paying homage to the career of heavy metal legend Ronnie James Dio, beginning with the number 57 on the back, for the year he made his music debut as part of the Vegas Kings. At the bottom of the shirt, we have a tribute to Dio's lasting influence on the world at large: the heavy metal devil horns hand gesture, which became an iconic symbol after his adoption of it during his tenure in Black Sabbath.
Black Sabbath themselves are featured on one sleeve, with the the grungy typography "Mob Rules" from the 1981 album of the same name, the second album to feature Ronnie James Dio as lead singer. On the other sleeve, the phrase "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll". This time, immortalising Dio's run in British heavy metal band Rainbow. The 1978 album of the same name was the last to feature Dio as the lead singer. The kit design itself takes inspiration from the album artwork of Rainbow's second studio album, "Rising".
Our main sponsor, "Dream Evil" is a nod to Dio the band, formed by Dio the person in 1982. "Dream Evil" was their fourth studio album.
Finally, our embroidered badge features the band's mascot, Murray, as pictured on the debut and most successful Dio album, "Holy Diver", along with a border of chains.
