Inspired by The Vicar of Dibley: The Rev Geraldine Granger Football Shirt
Our Dibley Village F.C. football shirt pays homage to one of the greatest British sitcoms, The Vicar of Dibley. The kit is modelled after the traditional vicar's garb, with a little flair. Our embroidered badge takes its inspiration from the banner that hangs on the pulpit of St. Barnabas Church.
The church itself sits centre-stage as our main sponsor, using the plain window Geraldine Granger commissions to replace the broken stained glass window in series 1, episode 4, "The Window & the Weather".
On one sleeve, we've immortalised the Dibley Bunny, aka Letitia Cropley, and then later everyone in Dibley Parish Council in the episode "The Easter Bunny". The other sleeve features a logo for Dibley Radio, from the episode "Dibley Live" wherein the villagers set up a radio station at the vicarage for a week to mark the 650th anniversary of St. Barnabas Church.
We chose the number 94 to highlight the sitcom's first airing, and the name Granger, for the eponymous vicar, Geraldine Granger. Our final detail is a tribute to Alice, who was, in our opinion, the heart of the series; it takes the form of a chalice, an item that made Alice mistakenly believe that she was a descendant of Jesus.
PLEASE NOTE: WE GET NEW STOCK OF THESE SHIRTS PRINTED ON AN ONGOING BASIS, SO IF YOUR REQUIRED SIZE IS CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK PLEASE ORDER YOUR CHOSEN SIZE LISTED AS "PRE-ORDER - AWAITING STOCK". WE WILL THEN DISPATCH YOUR SHIRT AS SOON AS WE RECEIVE NEW STOCK (WHICH WILL USUALLY TAKE ANYTHING FROM A COUPLE OF DAYS TO 3 WEEKS, DEPENDING ON PRODUCTION).
