Inspired by Thin Lizzy: Phil Lynott Football Shirt
The design of our Phil Lynott football shirt is inspired by the 1976 album 'Jailbreak'. Its release year, 1976 is celebrated on the badge. Paying homage to Thin Lizzy's co-founder, lead vocalist, bassist, and primary songwriter, we've created Leighlin Road F.C., a fictitious football club inspired by a Lynott quote from the book Rebel Song: Faces of Irish Music: "When I'm in Ireland, I say, I'm from Dublin. When I'm in Dublin, I say, I'm from Crumlin. When I'm in Crumlin, I say, Leighlin Road. When I'm in Leighlin Road, I say, I'm a Lynott."
Our main sponsor draws its inspiration from 'Whisky in the Jar' and Ireland's foremost whisky brand! Our version, Captain Farrell Irish Whiskey, hails from the Cork & Kerry Mountains.
Emblazoned on the arms: a Black Rose and an Emerald, after the 1979 album and the 1976 song, respectively.
On the back, we have the name Lynott and the number 69, after the year of Thin Lizzy's formation. Right at the bottom, we feature the lyrics, 'The boys are back in town'. Obviously.
This shirt is being produced by Sigur Sportswear exclusively for RedMolotov.
