Our The Fall-inspired kit was brought to life using a tribute to the circular design featured on the vinyl compilation The Wonderful And Frightening Escape Route To..., but it takes its name from the 2003 single Theme From Sparta F.C.. The embroidered badge contains a nod to their independent record label, Cog Sinister, as founded by Mark E. Smith.
The main sponsor, Wired, is a reference to the 1981 song, Totally Wired. Appearing on one sleeve, "Have a Bleedin Guess", from the artwork for the album Hex Enduction Hour, mimicking the hand drawn style from said album artwork. On the other, a logo-like tribute to the 1987 song, How I Wrote Elastic Man.
We chose the number 76 for the band's formation, and Smith for reasons that should be obvious to even the undiscerning The Fall fan.
Completing the design, a small reference to Rowche Rumble, our drawing of the pill design used on the single cover.
