Our Franz Ferdinand-inspired fffire f.c kit takes its name and embroidered badge design from the 2004 single, This Fffire, while the kit itself is inspired by the 2022's Hits to the Head, the band's greatest hits album. We've kept our colour scheme simple, using only the four core colours from across Franz Ferdinand's discography.
Our main sponsor celebrates the band's 2004 Grammy-nominated breakout single, Take Me Out, pulling its typographic style from the single cover. On one sleeve, our sponsor takes the form of the closing lyric from Ulysses, the lead single from their third studio album, Tonight: Franz Ferdinand. The lyrics, "You're not Ulysses La-la-la-la", like our main sponsor, have been styled to match the single cover. The other sleeve sponsor draws inspiration from what might be the band's most iconic album artwork, 2005's You Could Have It So Much Better. Here, we've chosen to highlight the album's lead single, Do You Want To.
On the back, aptly, are the lyrics, "I'll meet you coming backwards", taken from The Universe Expanded, a song from their fourth studio album, Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action.
The name (Kapranos, after the band's lead singer and lead guitarist) and number (2, commemorating their 2002 formation), are styled to match the band's logo; iconic and simple in equal measure.
