Inspired by Arctic Monkeys: Alex Turner Football Shirt
Our tribute to the Arctic Monkeys in general, and their record-breaking first album "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" in particular. The embroidered badge features the name "High Green Football Club" (High Green is the suburb of Sheffield where three of the original band members grew up; referenced in the taxi ride in the song "Red Light Indicates Doors Are Secured") and several broken and discarded cigarette butts (in reference to the image printed on the original CD and inside of the CD case). The badge also features the number 0114 - the dialling code for Sheffield, and a number often written by Matt Helders on his drum kit. The main sponsor on the front of the shirt is "Visit Hunter's Bar", featuring very tropical imagery, which provides a nod to "Fake Tales of San Francisco", where the protagonist pulls up a poseur with the line, "You're not from San Francisco, you're from Hunter's Bar..."
The sleeve sponsors feature a further reference to "Red Lights Indicate..." with the logo of Tropical Reed ("But this lad at her side drinking his Smirnoff Ice came and paid for her Tropical Reef"), whilst the opposite sleeve has the logo of The Ritz nightclub (complete with two bouncers; one of them alright, the other one's a scary 'un, as mentioned in "From The Ritz To The Rubble"). The rear of the shirt features the name "Turner" (for Alex) in a similar style to the font used in the band's original logo, and the number 6 (for 2006 - the year of the album's release). Finally, at the bottom appears the word "Mardy", just above the bum.
PLEASE NOTE: WE GET NEW STOCK OF THESE SHIRTS PRINTED ON AN ONGOING BASIS, SO IF YOUR REQUIRED SIZE IS CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK PLEASE ORDER YOUR CHOSEN SIZE LISTED AS "PRE-ORDER - AWAITING STOCK".
