Inspired by Discworld: Samuel "Sam" Vimes Football Shirt
Our AMCW F.C. kit pays homage to His Grace, His Excellency, The Duke of Ankh, Commander Sir Samuel Vimes of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch. The shirt itself takes its inspiration from the Ankh-Morpork City Watch armour while the embroidered badge is our interpretation of Sam Vimes' own Watch badge.
The Ankh-Morpork City Watch makes up our main sponsor, their emblem featuring the Ankh-Morpork coat of arms and the motto, "Fabricati diem, pvnc". A nonsense Latin phrase that doesn't mean "Make my day, punk", but looks like it should!
The Cockbill Street Roaring Lads, our first sleeve sponsor, were a street gang of which Sam Vimes was once a member. Our second sleeve sponsor takes the form of one of Ankh-Morpork's greasiest eateries: Harga's House of Ribs, home of the "All-You-Can-Gobble-For-A-Dollar". His particular favourite was the Burnt Brown Crunchy Bits.
We've chosen the number 8 to represent Sam Vimes as this is the number of books that feature him as the central character. The final detail at the bottom of the shirt is a tribute to the Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socio-economic unfairness. Naturally, signified by a pair of boots.
PLEASE NOTE: WE GET NEW STOCK OF THESE SHIRTS PRINTED ON AN ONGOING BASIS, SO IF YOUR REQUIRED SIZE IS CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK PLEASE ORDER YOUR CHOSEN SIZE LISTED AS "PRE-ORDER - AWAITING STOCK". WE WILL THEN DISPATCH YOUR SHIRT AS SOON AS WE RECEIVE NEW STOCK (WHICH WILL USUALLY TAKE ANYTHING FROM A COUPLE OF DAYS TO 3 WEEKS, DEPENDING ON PRODUCTION).
