Inspired by Rush: Willowdale Football Shirt
Our football shirt tribute to classic Canadian rockers, Rush. We couldn't choose a single bandmember to immortalise on the back, so instead we chose Willowdale, the name of the subdivision in Toronto where Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson grew up. The number on the back, 9:12, is in reference to the album "2112". The typography is drawn from their eponymous LP from 1974. At the bottom is the phrase "blowyourbrainsoutwithrush" which appeared on the backs of their "Hemispheres" tour t-shirts.
On the sleeves, we pay tribute firstly to the album "Moving Pictures" with our interpretation of the arches on the front steps of the Ontario Legislative building in downtown Toronto, as featured on the album's artwork; and secondly, to the song "Red Barchetta" with an illustration of a red Barchetta emblazoned with the number 81, the year of the song's release.
Our main sponsor is "YYZ" in reference to the 1981 song that shares its name with the Toronto Pearson International Airport code. We have taken the typographic style from the 2112 album typography. Our fictitious football team s "Lakeside Park F.C." after the 1975 song "Lakeside Park". The central image on the badge is our interpretation of the owl featured on the 1975 album "Fly By Night".
Last, but certainly not least, our base shirt design features a graduated pattern inspired by the symbols featured on the cover of the 2012 album, "Clockwork Angels".
This shirt is being produced by Sigur Sportswear exclusively for RedMolotov.
