Our Columbo tribute shirt is based on the eponymous lieutenant’s costume: a tan raincoat over a white shirt, fashioned here into thick stripes. The embroidered badge is based on Columbo’s LAPD shield, becoming the emblem for L.A.P.D. F.C.
Our main sponsor, Carsini Wines (established 1858). Run by Adrian Carsini, the murderer from the 1973 episode ‘Any Port in a Storm’, which Peter Falk often cited as his favourite episode. It is widely regarded as the very best.
On one sleeve, we have our version of the White Owl cigar logo, Columbo’s cigar brand of choice, and on the other, a representation of the sign for Barney’s Beanery, the roadside bar/restaurant/pool house in which Columbo fuels his chili habit.
No Columbo tribute would be complete without Dog the basset hound, who is featured on the back, alongside the number 71 for the show’s original air date (aside from the two early pilots first aired in 1968) and of course, the name Columbo.
