White Man In Hammersmith Palais Greetings Card
Based on the original poster for the 5 June 1977 All-Nighter at Hammersmith Palais which inspired Joe Strummer to write one of The Clash's most famous songs: 1978's "White Man In Hammersmith Palais". Featuring headline performances from the likes of Dillinger, Leroy Smart and Delroy Wilson, the narrator reflected on the lack of "rebellion" on the stage as a missed opportunity to engage the London youth in attendance, whilst also bemoaning the state of the country and music scene as a whole, before engaging in some self-depreciation about he is simply a white kid "lookin' for fun".
