January 6th, 2010

Happy New Year From RedMolotov.com

We’d like to start by wishing all our friends and supporters all the best for 2010. We really love what we do with RedMolotov but it would never be possible without the support of everyone who buys our t-shirts. Thank you from all of us for everything that you did during 2009 and hopefully we managed to bring you a few smiles and provoke a few thoughts along the way! Here’s to a happy and successful 2010 from everyone here at RedMolotov.com whoever you are and whatever you are doing.

Right, now on to the t-shirts…

New T-Shirts Out Now:

We’ve lost count over the past year or two how many requests we had from people to do some The Wire t-shirts, so we have finally given in and brought you a veritable plethora of them! Well, it is probably the best series in the history of television after all…

We’ve got a couple of electioneering designs featuring Baltimore’s #1 politico, Tommy Carcetti, a t-shirt design celebrating The Wire’s original detail, and one for Omar Little: our favourite character on the show.

We’ve also created some more alternatives to the Keep Calm and Carry On design which seems to have struck such a chord: A Northern version, two narcotic equivalents and one celebrating good, old fashioned order and attention to detail.

We’ve got a t-shirt design based on the Venn Diagram allowing you to choose you own pet hate figure, two new “I Am Not An…” designs for those of mistaken nationality, a couple of socialist and class war designs and finally one featuring a Bob Dylan quote on consumerist society on the front of a dollar bill.

Tommy Carcetti “Hope” T-Shirt

Tommy Carcetti Hope T-Shirt Drawing influence from the poster style popularised by another great American Democratic politician: Barack Obama. Show your support for the face of change in Baltimore.

Chill Out and Bob On T-Shirt

Chill Out and Bob On T-Shirt A different slant on the classic “Keep Calm and Carry On” t-shirt design, with a nod to our northern brethren. Chill yerself out and bob on.

Venn Diagram T-Shirt

Venn Diagram T-Shirt So, you have your t—s. You also get your w—–s and your c—s. However, it takes a special type of person to combine all three qualities in one. This Venn diagram t-shirt design makes it easy to demonstrate how unique they are. Choose your hate figure from our list, from Nick Griffin to Jeremy Clarkson via Piers Morgan, Gordon Brown and David Cameron, or alternatively create your own. You can, of course, choose the censored version of this t-shirt design or the uncensored one.

Omar Little T-Shirt

Omar Little T-Shirt “I got the shotgun, you got the briefcase. It’s all in the game though, right?”. Omar Little; the Robin Hood of Baltimore and one of the most interesting and complex characters in The Wire. The world’s first highly intelligent, homosexual, gun-toting gangster anti-hero with an exceptionally strong moral code. It’s all in the game.

I Am Not An American (Canadian Flag) T-Shirt

I Am Not An American (Canadian Flag) T-Shirt Hey you Canucks; are you sick of being mistaken for one of your highly strung, illiberal, gun totin’ southern neighbours? Well, never fear: simply wear this t-shirt, complete with Maple Leaf, wherever you travel and you can be sure that everyone will know where you come from. Eh?

Money Doesn’t Talk It Swears T-Shirt

Money Doesn't Talk It Swears T-Shirt Bob Dylan makes his début on the front of a US dollar bill with a sentiment we can all share. From “it’s alright Ma, I’m only bleeding”; Obscenity, who really cares? Propaganda all is phony.

Class War: The Workers Strike Back T-Shirt

Class War: The Workers Strike Back T-Shirt The one where the proletariat rise up against the evil Empire that is their capitalist masters, only to discover that the big boss wearing black and breathing heavily is actually their father…. or something like that.

Ship Shape And Bristol Fashion T-Shirt

Ship Shape And Bristol Fashion T-Shirt Paying homage to the most British of propaganda posters and the most British of expressions: The term originated in the early 19th Century due to the high tidal range of the port of Bristol before the construction of the Floating Harbour. Ships moored at Bristol would therefore be aground at low tide and, because of their keels, would fall to one side. If everything was not tied down and stowed away neat and tidy (”ship shape and Bristol fashion”) the cargo and contents of the ship could be ruined.

McNulty & Kima & Freamon & Prez T-Shirt

McNulty & Kima & Freamon & Prez T-Shirt The principal and finest (well, maybe Prez aside) members of the original detail from The Wire: Jimmy McNulty, Kima Graggs, Lester Freamon and Roland “Prez” Pryzbylewski. Good poe-lis.

Skin-Up And Chill Out T-Shirt

Skin-Up And Chill Out T-Shirt Resplendent with cannabis sativa leaf. A parody on the “Keep Calm and Carry On” wartime propaganda poster instead urging people so seek herbal remedies to today’s problems.

Carcetti For Mayor T-Shirt

Carcetti For Mayor T-Shirt Vote for change in the way our city is run. Vote for someone Thomas J “Tommy” Carcetti for Mayor of Baltimore. Based on the clothing worn during the election campaign in The Wire Series Four.

I Am Not An Australian T-Shirt

I Am Not An Australian T-Shirt Kiwis; avoid those awkward situations where you have to explain for the umpteenth time that you don’t care about the bloke’s aunt in Brisbane because YOU COME FROM NEW ZEALAND. Complete with Kiwi bird motif.

Keep Left T-Shirt

Keep Left T-Shirt Sound directional advice for those of a socialist perspective. When in doubt, choose the left.

Tune In And Drop Out T-Shirt

Tune In And Drop Out T-Shirt Timothy Leary’s take on the “Keep Calm and Carry On” phenomenon. Better living through chemicals.
